Dear Pastors and praying friends,
The past month and a half of deputation has been one of our best months. In spite of and even through things we would rather not have happened, God blessed. Through 5,300 miles of driving in March, battling through Ava’s first bout of sickness on the road, and several hospital visits to see my dad, God gave us 6 new supporting churches and helped us greatly toward reaching Indonesia!
It finally happened. The call every missionary knows is coming one day, but you would rather not have. The call with news of a family emergency, but because of the nature of missions, you’re farther away than you would like. My dad had a TIA stroke, (or a mini-stroke) while we were in Wisconsin. The church was very gracious and understanding toward us and excused us from the conference early, so we could make the trip home. The irony was apparent with the conference theme: “So Little Time”. It was a timely application as we had to leave early, and our time was cut short due to a health scare. As we left, the pastor noted, “You don’t know how much time you have. Whether it’s a loved one who may pass or to reach the world with the Gospel. There is so little time!”
Fortunately for us, the Lord blessed, and He worked things out. We are grateful that my dad made a full recovery with no lasting effects, and the doctors have treatments in place.
For us, it’s back on the road with deputation. We have meetings in Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Arkansas, and Ohio in the month ahead. Ava turns 5 months old. Hopefully we start packing up our house soon. If you would, pray for a few things. We are hoping to put our house on the market in the next month or two so please pray it sells. We are still saving for our set up costs in Indonesia. Aside from finding a house there, language school will cost $450 a month per person and we anticipate a year for us in school. Our needs are no bigger than our God though! That’s why I hope you’ll pray for Indonesia and the laborers needed there. Thank you so much for your support and prayer.
To Indonesia with Truth,
Jesse, Faith, and Ava.
